The challenge
Adrienne Hughes is a painter based on Vancouver Island. She had a presence online, but nothing that matched the quality of her work. Her paintings needed a gallery-quality setting, not a template that looked the same as every other artist’s portfolio. She also needed a way to sell prints and manage event listings herself without relying on a developer for every update.
What I built
The design was built around the work itself. Large-format image presentation with minimal visual noise, the kind of layout where the paintings can breathe. Collections are organized so visitors can explore by series or medium, and each work has its own clean detail page with dimensions, medium, and availability.

The print shop lets visitors browse available works and send purchase enquiries directly to Adrienne — no platform fees, no middleman. Event listings are CMS-driven so she can add new dates herself in minutes.
The color palette and typography were chosen to recede into the background and let the art step forward.

The result
Adrienne now has a site that represents her practice at the level her work deserves. The clean presentation and organized collections have made it easier for collectors and galleries to find and share her work online. The print enquiry form and CMS-driven event listings mean she can manage everything herself — no developer needed for day-to-day updates.
